You need to know your finger size for a ring or measure your partner's finger size to give them a ring, an engagement ring, or a wedding band. In this article, we will help you learn and understand different techniques to measure finger circumference. With the help of a diamond dealer, we will explore various solutions to determine your own or your partner's finger size so you never make a mistake again.

How to know your ring size?

Ask your diamond dealer for a ring sizer that you will receive at your personal address within two days so you can use the pierced rings to determine your size.
Use a tape measure to encircle the part of the finger that will receive the ring, then convert this measurement to millimeters which you will multiply by Pi.
The ring size of a ring for a French measurement is the perimeter of it in millimeters; visit your diamond dealer for an ideal fit.

Measuring the size of one's finger or finger circumference? What is that ?

When you are asked for this type of measurement, it is, as you might well suspect, to know the diameter of your finger.

With this measurement, your jeweler or diamond dealer will be able to advise you better and offer you a ring that matches your morphology (see our previous articles on our advice for choosing an engagement ring, a wedding ring for women or men). But above all, knowing the size of your finger is necessary for your ring to be adapted to your finger or that of your partner and comfortable to wear. Even though we can always adjust the size of a ring, it's still better to offer a diamond ring, an engagement ring, or a wedding ring in the right size the first time, don't you think? That's why it's important to measure your finger size properly before buying a ring.

Technique 1 for measuring your finger size: Measure with a ring sizer

The ring sizer is a very good technique for easily measuring your finger size. It is a reliable method for finding the right size. For this, you will need a ring and your printed Celinni ring sizer. Place your ring on the ring sizer and compare the inside diameter of your ring with the different sizes on the ring sizer.

Are you hesitating between two finger sizes on the ring sizer? We advise you to take the larger size of the two.

Be careful, you must print the ring sizer in the correct format or you may have trouble comparing the size.

Technique 2 to measure your finger size: Measure the circumference of your finger.

You have two possible methods:

-With a sewing tape measure: Wrap the tape measure around your finger, at the widest part of your finger, to measure its diameter. If on your tape measure, you measure a circumference of your finger of 5.2 cm, then you simply have to multiply by 10 to find your finger size for a ring, here we are on a ring size of 52.

-With a sheet of paper, a string... and a ruler: If you don't have a tape measure, you can use the same technique with a paper ribbon or a string, wrap it around your finger, then with a pen, mark the intersection, measure it with a ruler and you will get the same result as if you were using a tape measure.

As a reminder, it is preferable to take this measurement in the evening and if it's for a wedding ring or an engagement ring, measure the left ring finger.

Technique 3: Measuring the diameter of a ring with a ruler

Using a ruler, measure the inner diameter of your ring, making sure to be in the center of your ring. As soon as you have the diameter of your ring, use the following calculation method to know the size of your ring:

Diameter of the inside of your ring x 3.1415 = finger circumference

Technique 4: Ask a jeweler or a diamond dealer

If you prefer to be sure about getting the right ring size for your ring, wedding band or engagement ring, then don't hesitate to have a jeweler or diamond dealer do it for you. They will have very precise tools specific to jewelry making. You will then have no chance of getting the ring size wrong!
